Health Assessments

A health assessment is an evaluation of the health of an individual in relation to their ability to carry out their job. The continued monitoring of the health of employees deemed at risk of certain occupational illnesses because of the nature of their work requires a form of health assessment known as "health surveillance".

These services can be provided by our trained occupational health staff at your premises or at another location.

Health Assessments may be undertaken to

	Ensure that people are fit to do the job for which they are employed.
	Demonstrate that workplace controls are adequate.
	Detect adverse health effects.
	Identify work-related disease.

Types of health assessment include

	Pre-employment and pre-transfer medicals.
	Audiometry for employees exposed to significant amounts of noise.
	Medical examinations for vocational drivers.
	Respiratory checks for people working with hazardous substances that cause asthma.
	Statutory medical examinations under Lead, Asbestos and Ionising Radiations Regulations.
